This instance shows the proof of the power of a picture on the cover of the New York Times. Even if the picture is a fake and the poor Arab child is actually a child suffering from cystic fibrosis and not starvation, the facts matter less than the impact of the lie.
Has there ever been a country that battled their enemy while also feeding them 1.8 million tons of food? Israel is the only country that feeds its enemy. The United States did not try to feed the Vietcong. The United States did not try to feed the North Koreans. But the die has already been cast and Israel is still viewed as a country starving Arabs. This modern blood libel is a media-based message. It did not originate in the UN or in England.
That is why it is so critical that members of the media debunk and disprove the assertion about Israel.
