It’s Time: Sovereignty Now in Judea & Samaria

What happened today in the Knesset is nothing short of historic, and I was blessed to be there.

For the first time since October 7th, the devastating day that stripped away every illusion about “coexistence” with a genocidal enemy, the Israeli government publicly held an event highlighting the only viable solution to ensure our survival: full sovereignty in Judea and Samaria—now.

Five Likud MKs, in partnership with the trailblazing Sovereignty Movement led by Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar, convened a powerful conference under the unapologetic title: “Sovereignty Now – Realizing the Window of Opportunity to Apply Sovereignty to Judea and Samaria.”

This is not a fringe call. This is the pulse of the people, thanks to years of meticulous work by Yehudit Katsover and Nadia Matar.

I’ve had the privilege of watching these two visionary women take the idea of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria, once dismissed as extreme or “crazy”, and, through years of relentless work, turn it into a mainstream national strategy. Through conferences, youth education, political lobbying, and grassroots activism, they transformed the conversation and gave our people a proud and proactive vision of what to say yes to. Their bold efforts even caught the attention of the first Trump administration, placing sovereignty squarely on the global policy table. Now, that vision is becoming Israel’s reality.

At the Knesset event today, Minister Eli Cohen, now Minister of Energy, said clearly what every freedom-loving Jew should be shouting: “There will only be one Jewish state between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.” He even declared that he had been ready to walk away from normalization with Saudi Arabia if it required conceding a Palestinian state. This is a major shift—from chasing mirages to grounding ourselves in reality.

Cohen isn’t alone. Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli praised the Jewish farms and shepherds reclaiming our ancestral soil, who he claims are an integral part in protecting all Israelis, all over Israel. Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana stood behind this new call for strength.

And then came the thunderous words from former US Ambassador to Israel, David Friedman:

“The time for sovereignty in Judea and Samaria is long overdue. There never was a two-state solution. There can only be one Jewish state from the river to the sea. But now, after October 7th, the two-state delusion is dead.”

Dead.

Let that sink in. The delusion that brought the Oslo Accords. That gave the Palestinian Authority our ancestral, Biblical homeland, empowered the Palestinian Authority to raise terrorists within our borders, pay them rewards to this day to kill us. That got our families murdered on our land. That fantasy must die, and we must rise.

Friedman laid out a vision in his book ‘One Jewish State’, a “Puerto Rico model”, where Israel has full sovereignty over Judea & Samaria, granting Arabs local autonomy in Judea & Samaria, without national sovereignty. It’s pragmatic, moral, and exactly what Israel’s enemies fear most: a confident, sovereign Israel that no longer apologizes for existing.

MK Avichay Boaron put it perfectly: “We must apply sovereignty to win this war. That is victory” MK Dan Illouz added, “The world respects decisiveness, not hesitation.” And MC Yotam Zimri made the closing call:

“I do not want to see you at another Knesset session next year demanding sovereignty. That would mean we failed. I want to see you next time in the sovereign hills of Judea and Samaria.”

We’re not talking about ideology. We’re talking about security, survival, and destiny.

Maj.-Gen. (res.) Gershon Hacohen explained why settlements are essential for securing Israel’s major population centers. Our highlands aren’t luxuries—they’re lifelines. He also exposed the lie of a “demilitarized” Palestinian state: “dual-use” technologies make that impossible. And he ended his words making clear that the “peace” camp has been selling snake oil for decades. That all the land Israel was asked to give away in the “peace process” made a “palestinian state” an existential danger to the State of Israel.

The Sovereignty Conference made one thing clear: the Israeli people are awake. We’re done begging for approval from the UN, the ICC, and elitist globalists who live thousands of miles from our borders. We’re finished accepting terrorism as the price for “coexistence.”

Sovereignty isn’t just a political move—it’s a moral imperative. It’s about the Jewish people finally standing tall, in our ancestral, Biblical, G-d given land, with courage, pride, and G-d at our side.

If we don’t do it now, when will we?

Now is the time. Sovereignty Now. Am Yisrael Chai.

Thanks to the work of the Yes! Israel Project, together with the Sovereignty Movement, we’ve had the incredible opportunity to educate U.S. policymakers about the critical importance of Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria. By connecting them with facts on the ground and helping them see the strategic and moral clarity of this vision, many have become outspoken supporters. Here are just a few of their powerful statements backing this essential step for Israel’s future.
