While the Lapid-Abbas government has already decided to cut off the Gush Etzion communities from Jerusalem by expanding “palestinian” occupied Batir, President Joe Biden’s trip to the Holy Land started off with the President fumbling for words, while stating he is in Israel to “keep alive the honor of the Holocaust.”

Biden also butchered the name of Jerusalem’s Holocaust Museum Yad Vashem, mumbling through the words. Given the amount of negative press the President has received on his cognitive state over the last few weeks from what are supposed to be friendly media outlets, no one should be shocked about the President’s behavior. What is shocking is the behavior of the Lapid government in running to appease a man who is now clearly senile and whose polls have imploded.

Lapid’s plan, being carried out by DM Benny Gantz is to not only retroactively approve illegal Arab construction in large sections of Area C, but to expand cities like Batir and others to the point where they cut off Gush Etzion as well as deprive Jewish communities there from expanding.

“This is a catastrophe that must be averted – immediately,” says Meir Deutsch, Director General of Regavim. “Saar, Shaked, Kahana, Elkin, Hendel, Orbach – you were elected on right-wing votes because you promised to protect the Jewish settlement enterprise. You handed Yair Lapid his seat in the Prime Minister’s office, and you are the reason Benny Gantz is Minister of Defense. It is your responsibility to block this insane plan to whitewash thousands of illegal structures that will cut off Jewish settlement blocs from Jerusalem and give permanence to the criminal Palestinian takeover of Area C.”

Given Biden’s senility, it is hard to imagine that the Lapid government actually approved this plan because of the President’s visit. Rather, the Lapid government is using the visit as a cover for the decision, which is entirely theirs.

Israel’s government is headed by an assortment of post-Zionist and anti-religious politicians. Most are far removed from the ideological underpinnings of Zionism and lack the faith necessary to truly lead the State of Israel. Polls show Netanyahu having just enough to form a coalition. If he can’t – Lapid may very well continue as Prime Minister. If he does, the Arab occupation of Israel’s Biblical Heartland will continue to increase to a point where only a miracle can reverse it.
